Funky Flame Creation Tutorial

The following tutorial came about as a result of a discussion that has been going on in the Apophysis mailing list.
I must thank Datagram for the cool little 2 transform script used in Step 1
and thanks also to Ulli for the method of removing the 2nd transform using Notepad noted in Step 3.
You guys are an inspiration!

Step1.

a. Open Apophysis.

b. Open Script Editor.

c. Select New.

d. Paste the following text...

Clear;
AddTransform;
AddTransform;

e. Run the script.

f. This will clear the window and add 2 very basic Linear transforms/triangles.

Step2.

Save to xxxxxx.flame (I called mine "funkyflamebase.flame")

Step3.

a. Open your newly save xxxx.flame file in Notepad.

b. Delete one of the lines that start with "xform weight="

c. Save the xxxx.flame file.

Step4.

Open the edited/saved xxxxx.flame file in Apophysis.

Step5.

a. Open the Editor window.

b. Select the Variations tab.

c. Change the Linear value to 0

d. Change the Sperical value to 10 (yes, 10!)

Step6.

a. Open the Options Window and select the Random tab.
b. Set the values of Mimimum and Maximum for Number of Transforms and Mutation Transforms to 2
c. Set Forced Symmetry to "None".

Step7.

a. Still in the Options window, select the Variations tab.
b. Click on "Clear All", then put a check in ONLY the Sperical checkbox.
c. Click on "OK" to save your new settings.

Step8.

a. Open the Mutation window.
b. Set the "Speed" slider to "0.05"
c. Set the "Trend" to Spherical
d. Click on the centre mutation box a few times, until you see a mutation that you like.

From here, the only thing you need is your own creativity.
Feel free to experiment fully with any of the steps 5 through 8...
Also feel free to run scripts, tweak triangles, anything you like.
This tutorial is a starting point that you may use in any way that you see fit, to create truly funky flames of your own!
